Synopsis :
No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger… and they know it.
My review :
Katy is more mature in this book, She learnt of her errors. Daemon is here for her more than ever. Dee on the other hand isn’t here for her and probably won’t be too soon. She is always so protective but she is frightened as well of future and because of what she becomes.
The end of Onyx was awful for Katy and now Daemon is overprotective. We get to see him vulnerable, protective, jealous, romantic and sweet. He doesn’t want to lose her. Between Dawson who wants to go find Bethany and the return of Blake, Daemon and Katy don’t have much time for romantic and sexual moments. But all things come to these who wait. Their relationship goes through many stuff, but their love for each other is real.
I like the relation between Dawson and Katy, he feels close to her because she knows partially what he lived with Deadalus. Thanks to her he learns to become again the Dawson he was before.
Dee is angry with Katy because of Adam, the same is for Ash and Andrews. Dee totally let her claws loose in Opal, I was feeling her pain over losing Adam and her best friend along with her thirst for revenge. I want to see Dee like this more often.
Blake is back and it brings many funny dialogues and intense moments.
Dear god, the ending. It’s just so killing, it’s torn me apart. It was tense, heartbreaking and suspenseful. I cry so much over the scene.
Jennifer L. Armentrout is one hell of a writer. Every of her books just keeps on getting better and better. Her awesome, addicting writing is just amazing. I’m a big fan and I can’t wait to read more.
