Synopsis :
Most people dream about getting out of Sharon, Nebraska, but after three years away, Lauren Barrett is coming home. She has her reasonsmissing her family, losing her college scholarship. But then there’s the reason Lauren can’t admit to anyone: Rob Conrad, her best friend’s older brother.
Football prowess and jaw-dropping good looks made Rob a star in high school. Out in the real world, his job and his relationships are going nowhere. He’s the guy who women love and leave, not the one who makes them think of foreveruntil Lauren comes back to town, bringing old feelings and new dreams with her.
Because the only thing more important than figuring out where you truly belong is finding the person you were meant to be with.
My review :
Lauren is back to Sharon without her best friend Nadia but in the same city as Rob, Nadia’s brother and the boy she loves since she was a teen. Lauren isn’t a social girl, she doesn’t like when there are too many people and sometimes have panic attack. She is a sweet and smart girl who loves Rob but have never telling him.
Rob is a kind, hot and brave guy, he design and built furniture but he doesn’t trust himself. He will do everything to protect his girlfriend and his family but he doesn’t think of him. He doesn’t think that he can live with work only. . Rob is really a good guy, he always thinks to others before him, he is charming. They are perfect for each other and for self-esteem.
The story is great and the fact that Lauren is asocial is nice for me, probably because I find a little of me in Lauren.
Ann Aguirre has a real talent, I love all her books and this one isn’t an exception. I like the way she describes feelings, characters and I like all different story in this book, Lauren’s story, Rob’s story, Avery’s story and even Krista’s story. In “As long as you love me” there is other story not just the one with Lauren and Rob. Even if others story are less important.
Nadia and Ty are here too, Max and Angus mostly by email but they are present too. I like to follow the evolution of these characters.
The book is told in Lauren POV but in the end there is a bonus scene with Rob POV and an extract of “Shape of my heart”, the book 3 with Max.
I know it will be the last one but I hope a little more of Angus story.
The first book in the trilogy is the best for me but this one is really good. The only difference is at the end I don’t like Lauren’s reaction even if it’s for Rob’s good, it’s heartbreaking.
Ann Aguirre has still carried out an exploit by being as well talented in New Adult as she is the dystopia or the fiction.
Thanks to Netgalley, Harlequin and Ann Aguirre for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
