A- New point

Synopsis :

Imagine the worst day of your life. Immerse yourself in the details. How did you feel? Who were you with? What were the consequences?
Recalling my darkest day is as simple as typing a few search terms into a web browser. It only took thirty minutes for me to become the center of a media frenzy that caught the attention of an entire country.
So I hid.
Nine months later and I’m getting better. Moved two hours from home, landed my dream job, and met a delicious new guy.
Healing is that simple, right?
Wrong.

My review :

This is the story of Zoe, a young librarian who moved in New Point for a new life without trauma. She meets Miles who are hot and want to know her more.

One incident in taken place on Zoe old workplace, nine months ago, which left her traumatized. So yes Zoe is damaged, she’s scared of thunder but she’s also a brave woman who doesn’t hesitate to save kids. Zoe is a great character, I like the fact that even after the incident, she isn’t afraid of her feelings, she’s attracted by Miles and she’s not uncommunicative. The only thing about her with which I have struggled is that in wanting to keep some secret, she didn’t realize she hurts the people she loves.

Miles is an attractive man who loves his family and has a little problem with people who keep secret from him. Since the first time he saw Zoe he knows that he wants to know her more. Quickly. The fact that she’s his neighbor is a good thing to build relation. He knows that she keeps a secret but he give some time. He’s kind, hot and comprehensive but sometimes he can be a total jackass. He flees when things get complicated. Fortunately, he has a family to remember him some things.

Blake is Zoe’s brother and he’s her guardian since the death of her parents, he’s the one who raised her and protect her. He’s a big brother, best friend and dad in the same time. I like Blake and his tenderness for Zoe, he’s full of little things that have affected me and I love this family relationship. I like the scene when Blake meets Miles.

Etta is Miles’s sister, she have a little boy, Duke. Etta is nice and Duke is a great little boy, I want my son to be like Duke when he’ll be older, so alive and energetic but at the same time sympathetic and endearing. I love this family.

This book made me cry and I liked the style of the author, it’s fluid and enjoyable. The story is beautiful and moving and I quickly attached to the different character. The relationships between the various characters are very well developed. I liked that the author has written a book with characters having human reactions. Zoe reactions are incomprehensible, as well as that of Miles. We understand quite why they act like that and it immerses us even more in the book. I can’t wait to read the story of Blake in the next volume.

The story is narrated by Zoe at times but a passage is narrated by Miles.

I would thank Netgalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
