Synopsis :
It’s been 21 days since The 100 landed on Earth. They’re the only humans to set foot on the planet in centuries… or so they thought. Facing an unknown enemy, Wells attempts to keep the group together. Clarke strikes out for Mount Weather, in search of other Colonists, while Bellamy is determined to rescue his sister, no matter the cost. And back on the ship, Glass faces an unthinkable choice between the love of her life and life itself.
My review :
It was a little weird in first because I have seen the TV Show and the characters are different, there isn’t Finn in the book for example. So I put some time to put me back in the story of the book.
At the end of The 100, Clarke and Bellamy leave in search of Octavia. The ship closed one of its parts and condemned hundred people to the death.
On earth, the camp was attacked by earthborn, 2 people are sick and an earthborn, Sasha, is captured.
Clarke is angry, she lost her best friend, for her Wells is guilty, he doesn’t help Clarke to save her. She goes with Bellamy. I like Clarke, she’s kind and even if she’s angry with Wells, she’s mostly angry with herself about her parents and Lily. She’ll do her possible to make Sasha talks and the things she’s discovers are strange.
Wells is the man in charge but he has some problems with Graham. He found in Sasha a person who understands him. I’m not a big fan of Wells, it’s his fault if the ship is in bad shape, he’s selfish when Clarke is in the game but in Day 21, he thinks more and it’s a good thing.
I love Bellamy, his sister is important to him, he’ll do everything to protect her and I like that. But we learn more about him and his past in this book and the more I learn, the more I love him. I like the relation between Clarke and Bellamy, in the end their aren’t any secrets between them and I like the fact that Clarke found the strength to admit the truth and I like the fact that Bellamy even if he’s angry can forgive her.
Glass is on the ship and contrary to Clarke, her relation with Luke is based on the lie. I don’t like that Glass lies to Luke, I don’t find that her reasons are healthy and especially with a stake so important I find her rather selfish on this point.
I can tell you more about the story or Sasha because I want you to read this book. If you have seen the TV Show, forget it, it’s not the same story or characters and I think, for now, that the book is better.
I like the different POV even if I don’t like all the characters and with the end, I can’t wait to read the next book because at the end I was “No it’s not possible, she can’t stop the book now, I want some answers NOWWWW”.
For me the author made a good job, she writes very well and I like the idea that certain human beings survived. I liked the moments when we discover certain things of past and I look forward to discovering that it’s going to take place afterward.
If you have read The 100, read Day 21 because it’s better than the first book.
