Burying water

Synopsis :

The top-selling, beloved indie author of Ten Tiny Breaths returns with a new romance about a young woman who loses her memory—and the man who knows that the only way to protect her is to stay away.
Left for dead in the fields of rural Oregon, a young woman defies all odds and survives—but she awakens with no idea who she is, or what happened to her. Refusing to answer to “Jane Doe” for another day, the woman renames herself “Water” for the tiny, hidden marking on her body—the only clue to her past. Taken in by old Ginny Fitzgerald, a crotchety but kind lady living on a nearby horse farm, Water slowly begins building a new life. But as she attempts to piece together the fleeting slivers of her memory, more questions emerge: Who is the next-door neighbor, quietly toiling under the hood of his Barracuda? Why won’t Ginny let him step foot on her property? And why does Water feel she recognizes him?
Twenty-four-year-old Jesse Welles doesn’t know how long it will be before Water gets her memory back. For her sake, Jesse hopes the answer is never. He knows that she’ll stay so much safer—and happier—that way. And that’s why, as hard as it is, he needs to keep his distance. Because getting too close could flood her with realities better left buried.
The trouble is, water always seems to find its way to the surface.

My review :

One night, one girl is found almost dead, the Sheriff bring her at the hospital. She has lost her memory and she must learn to live without them. The doctor Meredith is the Sheriff’s wife and the nurse Amber is their daughter. Jesse, the Sheriff’s son, is a hot guy and Water is irresistibly attract by him, she doesn’t know why but she trusts him.

The story is told in 2 POV, the past from Jesse and the present from Water.

Water is smart girls who has made a mistake and regret it, badly. I like this girl because she’s a survivor and even after all that happened to her, she love the people and try to move forward in her life.  She’s stunning before the “accident” and even after. I have seen a lot of beautiful things in her.

Jesse is a good guy but being the son of the Sheriff isn’t always easy, he has a good heart and I like him a lot. Besides, he loves car, beautiful cars and I love beautiful cars too. He wants a 1969 Plymouth Barracuda and for that he’ll do a lot of things.

K.A Tucker is a great author, she has a real talent for describe her characters and make you love them. I like her writing style, it’s simple and not boring at all. The change between past and present is really nice because we’ve seeing 2 POV and also because it’s original. I like the fact that the past is in Jesse’s POV and the present in Water’s. I think the author made a really good choice by doing this. This book is so intense, I have read it so fast, at the end of a chapter the only things I wanted was read another one and finally know what happened.

The story is really great, it’s a story of love, hate, violence and beginnings. I love the symbolism of Water’s tattoo, I thing I want the same now.

I don’t know who will be the next characters in the series but I hope for Ditty because I think he’s a great guy who deserves a book, maybe a Ditty and Amber book. Jesse will go crazy and it will be fun. I really appreciate this book and I can’t wait to see what K.A Tucker has in her brain for the next.

Thanks to K.A Tucker, Netgalley and Inkslinger for giving me the opportunity to read this book.
