A-Seventh Grave and No Body

Synopsis :

Twelve. Twelve of the deadliest beasts ever forged in the fires of hell have escaped onto our plane, and they want nothing more than to rip out the jugular of Charley Davidson and serve her lifeless, mangled body to Satan for dinner. So there’s that. But Charley has more on her plate than a mob of testy hellhounds. For one thing, her father has disappeared, and the more she retraces his last steps, the more she learns he was conducting an investigation of his own, one that has Charley questioning everything she’s ever known about him. Add to that an ex-BFF who is haunting her night and day, a rash of suicides that has authorities baffled, and a drop-dead sexy fiancé who has attracted the attentions of a local celebrity, and Charley is not having the best week of her life.

A tad north of hell, a hop, skip, and a jump past the realm of eternity, is a little place called Earth, and Charley Davidson, grim reaper extraordinaire, is determined to do everything in her power to protect it.

We’re doomed.

My review :

I can’t tell you much about this book without spoiling you so my review will be short.

Charley has some problems, like all the other books, but in this one she take more risks and Reyes doesn’t like that at all. He became her bodyguard and I let you imagine Charley’s reaction.

Cookie and Uncle Bob are here, they are so great, I like these characters.

This book is more intense, we learn more about Charley and we are afraid for her and her future. Some bad things happen and like always Charley is the center of action. She is independent, fierce and she like to do what she want, when she want, with who she want. The problem now is Reyes Farrow, he doesn’t let her too far from him even for one second.

I like the dialog between and the tension between them. Sometimes I wish that Charley understood Reyes POV because if he’s doing this, it’s for her own safety but she’s so stubborn.

I really can’t wait to read the book eight because now the things move faster and I want to know many many things.

Darynda Jones pulls us one more time in Charley’s exceptional universe and leave s no respite. I live with Charley, I love Reyes with Charley, I cry with Charley and I want to know who is Mr Wong like Charley.

If you like all the other books, you will definitely love this one, Reyes is so hot and Charley so impulsive that you will read it fast and like me have to wait for the next book.

Thanks Darynda Jones for giving me such a great time and pleasure with your books.
