B-Wicked

Synopsis :

Things are about to get Wicked in New Orleans.

Twenty-two year old Ivy Morgan isn’t your average college student. She, and others like her, know humans aren’t the only thing trolling the French Quarter for fun… and for food. Her duty to the Order is her life. After all, four years ago, she lost everything at the hands of the creatures she’d sworn to hunt, tearing her world and her heart apart.

Ren Owens is the last person Ivy expected to enter her rigidly controlled life. He’s six feet and three inches of temptation and swoon-inducing charm. With forest-green eyes and a smile that’s surely left a stream of broken hearts in its wake, he has an uncanny, almost unnatural ability to make her yearn for everything he has to offer. But letting him in is as dangerous as hunting the cold-blooded killers stalking the streets. Losing the boy she loved once before had nearly destroyed her, but the sparking tension that grows between them becomes impossible for Ivy to deny. Deep down, she wants… she needs more than what her duty demands of her, what her past has shaped for her.

But as Ivy grows closer to Ren, she realizes she’s not the only one carrying secrets that could shatter the frail bond between them. There’s something he’s not telling her, and one thing is for certain. She’s no longer sure what is more dangerous to her—the ancient beings threatening to take over the town or the man demanding to lay claim to her heart and her soul.

Review :

Ivy can see the fae and her job is to kill them but one night a fae shot her. After that her world changed and she must work with Ren.

Ivy has lost her real parents, her adoptive parents and her boyfriend. All of them are dead because of the Fae so she doesn’t like them except for the little brownie that lives with her. She doesn’t let people love her and mostly she doesn’t want to care about people. She thinks that people she loves all die and it’s too hard for her.

Fortunately for Ivy some people want to be a part of her life and do anything for that, like Val and Ren. Val is Ivy’s best friend, she is a part of the order so Ivy doesn’t have secret for her. Ren is the new boy in town, he’s handsome and kind but he has a secret. His past is not happy and it’s probably what brings him to get closer to Ivy.

I like the chemistry between Ivy and Ren, there are a lot of fun dialog between them. I like Tink too, he’s a bit pervert but he’s also really fun, and he likes Harry Potter.

The story is nice and well written, but hey it’s Jennifer L Armentrout so no surprise here. I wasn’t surprise by the story but I am good with that. And Jennifer is the best to tell a story where you want to be a character.

The fae are not good is this book and the end bring a lot of questions. Torn, the second book, will be out in Summer 2015 so I have to be patient and you know that it will be very hard for me.

The story is told by Ivy and I have read Wicked in eBook and bought the paperback because I love the cover, she’s beautiful and also because I have almost all Jennifer’s book in paperback on my shelves in English and in French.

If you like Jennifer L Armentrout book, you will like this one and for all girls who doesn’t like love triangle, you can go there isn’t one.
