Synopsis (From goodreads)
We all need a hero…let the Saints of Denver begin
Orlando Frederick knows what it is to be leveled by pain. Instead of focusing on his own, he’s made it his mission to help others: sports stars, wounded war vets, survivors of all kinds. But when Dom, a rugged, damaged, sinfully attractive cop, makes his way into Lando’s physical therapy practice, he might be the biggest challenge yet. Lando loved one stubborn man before and barely survived the fallout. He’s not sure he can do it again.
Dominic Voss is a protector. The police badge he wears is not only his job, it’s his identity, so when he’s sidelined because of an injury, the only thing he cares about is getting back on the force. He expects Lando to mend his body, he just doesn’t realize the trainer will also have him working toward a hell of a lot more. As attraction simmers and flares, Dom sees that Lando needs repair of his own…if only the man will let him close enough to mend what’s broken.
Review
After reading Rule again, I was in need of Archer Boys and friends, so my best option was Leveled, which is the story of Orlando, Remy’s boyfriend.
It’s a M/M story and I can tell you that Jay is amazing, because I was stuck in this book, it’s very well written as always and the story of Lando and Dominic is beautiful.
Dominic needs to recover after his injurie, he’s broken physically and he will fight for his recovering, and for working again. All he knows in life is to be a cop, a hero, a protector and without that he is nothing. Or at least, that’s what he thinks.
Orlando has a good job, a great house but something is missing in his life since Remy’s death. He’s broken but emotionally. He need some closure and he need to let his fear aside.
The attraction between the two boys is immediate, and I like that they’re going into it. Dominic is really fun and I laugh a lot, he’s shiny and I like when he doesn’t give choice to Lando. Orlando has only problem, Dominic’s job, it’s hard for him to think that Dominic could be hurt in duty, or killed. He doesn’t want to live the loss again.
I like that they can talk about it together and reassured themselves, because Lando is in need of affection. A thing I like too is to see Rule, Shaw, Rome and Cora again, that is a great thing to see them together at some point of their life.
I really like what Jay Crownover did to her character and I love the fact that she write a novel about Lando. It’s not Remy but it’s an end to the story and I appreciate that.
Jay will always be the author who made me wants piercing to place I don’t think of!!! And tattoo on men are so sexy, but in Leveled there is no tattoo and no piercing, just two broken men who needs love.
If you like The Marked Men you must read Leveled.
