About WITHIN THESE WALLS

Within these walls, he became my solace, my sanctuary and my strength.

I am not strong.  I am just a survivor of circumstance.

Isn’t that what we all do?  Survive?

Each of us has our own set of circumstances to muddle through.  Mine are just more…complicated.

Born with a severe heart defect, I’ve seen the inside of a hospital room more than my own bedroom.

I was drowning, a prisoner to the illness that owned me, until he appeared.  He thinks he’s blocked out the world with his tattoos and hard exterior, but I see the real Jude, the one he so desperately wants to forget.

But is he the answer to my prayers or will he break my already damaged heart forever?

My name is Lailah Buchanan, and this is our story of hope, redemption and sacrificing it all for the one you love.

My review :

First of all, thanks to J.L Berg, the publicist and InkSlinger for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

This story is a story of hope and heart, it’s an amazing story, sometimes sad but in the end, full of hope and love.

Lailah is a strong girl with a heart disease, since her birth she has spent a lot of times in hospital and the only things she wants is a normal life. This girl is awesome, she’s ill but never complain about that, she’s sad but she could find happiness in her life. She’s better after her meeting with Jude.

Jude is dead inside since the death of his fiancée three years ago. His life has changed and he has tortured himself by working at the hospital where Megan goes away. But one day, he sees Lailah, her humanity, her hope and doubt arrives. Can he still love, live and be happy ?

I love Jude, he’s passionate when he wants, he can be a hot guy or a kind guy and sometimes he can be a jerk. But I forgive him, his past is not good and he tries to live with his loss.

Lailah and Jude are just magic together, they are in total symbiosis, they fit totally together.

Within these walls tells you how open your heart again, how the destiny is always unpredictable. You will read about a girl with a death clock above the head who find hope in little thing and in love.

I appreciated the feelings which I felt while reading this book, I laughed, I cried and I loved and hoped. It is the rather tragic and sad story which is nevertheless very beautiful and moving.

I don’t wish to anybody to be in the situation of Lailah but I find that she has a good state of mind and that she is brave. Jude from his part feels guilty, what is understandable seen the story but he manages to find the courage to move forward and to turn to the future rather than towards the past. They are really two very charming characters and the way the author tells the story is admirable.

I love this book, it’s really a good book and the author speaks very well about the feelings of Jude and Lailah. I didn’t know J.L Berg but now I am going to follow what she writes.

Within these walls is really a good story and all the people in this world who complains too much must read it. Are your problems really bad ? If they are keep hope and if not stop complaining and live your life. We have one life so take it and live it.
