Asa

Synopsis

Jay Crownover’s New York Times and USA Today bestsellingMarked Men series continues with the much anticipated story of southern charmer and certified criminal Asa Cross.

Starting over in Denver with a whole new circle of friends and family, Asa Cross struggles with being the man he knows everyone wants him to be and the man he knows he really is. A leopard doesn’t it change its spots and Asa has always been a predator. He doesn’t want to hurt those who love and rely on him, especially one luscious arresting cop who suddenly seems to be interested in him for far more than his penchant for breaking the law. But letting go of old habits is hard, and it’s easy to hit bottom when it’s the place you know best.

Royal Hastings is quickly learning what the bottom looks like after a tragic situation at work threatens not only her career but her partner’s life. As a woman who has only ever had a few real friends she’s trying to muddle through her confusion and devastation all alone. Except she can’t stop thinking about the sexy southern bartender she locked up. Crushing on Asa is the last thing she needs but his allure is too strong to resist. His long criminal record can only hurt her already shaky career and chasing after a guy who has no respect for the law or himself can only end in heartbreak.

A longtime criminal and a cop together just seems so wrong . . . but for Asa and Royal, being wrong together is the only right choice to make.

Review

Asa is Ayden’s brother, he’s not a good boy but he’s trying to be a better man for his sister. He’s working on the bar with Rome and he loves his work. He’s aware of all the sins of his past and he believes he’s not worthy of being loved. He knows Ayden loves him but he doesn’t understand why and mostly he doesn’t think anyone else can love him. As much as Asa try to avoid Royal, she’s determined to have him.

Royal is a cop and she’s Saint’s friend.  She’s the one who arrested Asa the last time he got mixed up in some trouble. Her partner and best friend, Dominick was seriously hurt when a call they were on went bad so Royal has been off from work and she keeps getting drunk at the Bar. The only thing she wants is Asa but this one is trying to avoid getting in trouble.  Royal blames herself for what happened to Dom and the guilt is eating her.

I love the reappearance of the characters of the other books and I love the way Jay present us the new characters of The Saints of Denver. All the Marked couple have evolved and now their life are great and happy, they are a real family and I love that. I like that in spite of the characters changed, they are always attached to the others. Ayden and Rome are here for Asa, even Rule and Nash talk to him. Royal has Cora, Saint and even Ayden.

I like how Jay describe so beautiful characters, she’s so talented and I can tell that I’m happy to read her books because all girls need men like the one she creates, they are kind, beautiful, lovely and strong. They protect what it’s them and I like the way they evolve together.

It’s hard to say goodbye to this series, if I must do an order for the books I will say that Rule come first (Always), Asa comes in second, Rowdy in third, Rome in fourth, Nash in fifth and Jet in last. That is for the books and the men, for women I will say Shaw, Salem, Cora, Royal, Ayden and Saint. I can’t wait to see what Jay Crownover has in her hat for Zeb and Sayer.

So one last word, Jay I have read recently that you love Jennifer L Armentrout and want to be like her, Jay you’re already like her, your characters as amazing, your books are great and you are a wonderful woman who deserves all the love from your readers.

I’m happy to end this series with a great book like Asa.

About Jay Crownover

jay

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we  go in no particular  order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in  years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half  sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the  place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has  always offered interesting insight  into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live  in Colorado  and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender  but I  have zero talent so there is that.
I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that  make the reader feel  something.
Thanks for taking the time to check my stuff out….
