I’m honored and so very excited to share with you an exclusive 10-question interview with the amazing Diana Nixon.

Me : Which author inspires you?

Uh, I can’t name only one. There are so many great books and authors! I love the works of Wendy Higgins, Jennifer L. Armentrout, Richelle Mead, Cecelia Ahern and many others. I wish I had more time to read.  But working on my own books takes a lot of my time. My latest read was Ugly Love by Colleen Hoover, I enjoyed this book a lot.

Me : What are your thoughts on good / bad reviews?

I respect every reader’s opinion. I know it’s impossible to make everyone like what I write. The only things that I don’t like are disrespect and rudeness. No matter how much you hate the book, don’t forget that there are tons of work standing behind every story that you read. I’m not talking about my stories only, everyone’s works deserve respect. So if you write a negative review, don’t forget about this simple rule. Our books are our babies, imagine someone hurting your baby. I don’t think you will like it.

Me : Did you make any marketing mistakes, and is there anything you would like to avoid doing in the future?

Unfortunately, yes. While working on my first book, I didn’t know anything about promotion and publishing process. I rushed things, and I didn’t pay much attention to the details. I should have worked more on editing and cover design, but back then it didn’t seem to matter. Now I know that every small thing about writing and publishing a book matters. Every step is important and an author should never rush with releasing a book that is not ready to be released; it would never do a book any good. Find a good editor and a cover designer, both will help you turn your work into a complete publishing material. Don’t think that promotion is a waste of time, it is not. The more you promote, the more books you will sell, the more readers you will have, the happier you will be 🙂

Me : Where do you see yourself in five years?

Oh, lol… That’s a good question. I guess I want to be myself first of all, I want to be surrounded by the people I love: my family, my friends and my readers of course. And hell yes, I want to be even more successful in my writing than I am now 🙂

Me : What advice would you give to your younger self?

Don’t be afraid of anything. It’s better to try something and regret it, than regret not trying.

Me : If you lived in your book world, which character would you want to be?

I love all of my characters. They are strong and they are real fighters. They know how to get out of any trouble and I wish I were that lucky, lol But honestly, I like Eileen from Love Lines. Despite all the problems she faces, she stays loyal to her soul, she loves her family and she will never let any of her friends down. She’s not egoistic, which I still need to learn how to be LOL, and she knows what she wants from her life, which I think is the key to everything.

Me : What character was the most difficult to write and why?

Actually, there were a few characters that were hard to create. All of them are from Love Undone and In Your Eyes novels. The story told in those two books is very touching, the characters suffer a lot, and it was really hard to show all those things they felt. But I hope I’ve succeeded 🙂 Kassy, Daniel, Emily, Adrian and Nic – they made a great team, each with his/her own story. Neither of them is perfect, but I think this is exactly what makes them interesting. They fight with their inner demons, and in the end, they find what they have been looking for – beautiful love and happiness.

Me : I love your answer because Love Undone is my favorite one in your romance books.

Me : What is your secret to being a superwoman? You write books, own Inks and Scratches magazine, have two kids, one husband.  Where do you find the time for all these amazing things?

One husband – great point! LOL, Thank God, I have only one husband. You know, I think life it too short to spend it bored. So I try to do my best at being a good mother, a wife and a writer. I like all the craziness of my days, I can’t stay away from work for too long. I love writing, creating new stories and worlds, and I love my family. That’s why I find time for everything, because everything I do, I do for them. I want them to be happy, and I want my readers to love my books, so there’s no time for breaks or laziness 🙂

Me : As there is no time for breaks, we can expect Love Lines 5 and Louise 2 next year !!! Just saying, don’t pushing you or just a little 🙂

Me : Is there a genre you don’t see yourself writing (horror, thriller…)?

I can’t imagine myself writing a spy novel or a thriller. I guess I’m just too scared of all the horrible things that might happen there LOL. I prefer something more romantic and touching.

Me : When shall we have the pleasure to read book 5 in the Love Lines Series? Yes, I missed Evan a lot!!!

Well, I hope I will start working on the final book of the series soon. It has to be perfect, that’s why I need more inspiration and time to write it 🙂 Love Lines was my debut series, and I feel a little sad about saying good-bye to its characters. Maybe that’s why it takes SOOO long to finish the series LOL.

Me : I feel sad too to leave Evan but I have faith in you, you’ll find the perfect ending for you and your readers.

Thank you Diana for giving me a little of your time with all these answer and now go back to writing, you have a book to release in FALL !!!
