Synopsis
The USA TODAY bestselling author of the Ten Tiny Breaths series and Burying Water—which Kirkus Reviews called “a sexy, romantic, gangster-tinged page-turner”—returns with a new novel packed with romance, plot twists, and psychological suspense.
Ivy, a talented tattoo artist who spent the early part of her twenties on the move, is finally looking for a place to call home. She thinks she might have found it in San Francisco, but all that changes when she witnesses a terrible crime. She’s ready to pack up her things yet again, when a random encounter with a stranger keeps her in the city, giving her reason to stay after all.
That is, until Ivy discovers that their encounter wasn’t random. Not at all…
Review
If you’ve read Chasing River, you already know Ivy. She’s now working at her uncle’s tattoo shop in San Francisco. She’s happy and doesn’t think to leave as she always does. Unfortunately, her uncle is killed and her life is torn upside down.
Sebastian was a navy SEALS and now he’s working for a company who does secret mission. He has a mission, finding a tape which can do a lot of bad publicity to his boss. He must find this tape and kill Ivy if necessary.
I like Ivy, she’s strong on the surface but inside she’s sweet and she needs love. Ned was like a father to her and his death disturbed her. She wants to find the person who is responsible and move on to her life in another country. But all of this will change with the apparition of Sebastian, this guy will make her think and see the life differently.
Sebastian is great, I like when he’s all bodyguard on Ivy. He wants to protect her and he never kills innocent people. They are really awesome together; they have no attach and think the same way. They love to travel and move when they want.
I love this story better than Chasing River, K.A Tucker are doing a very good job with this series because it goes better on better with each passing book. Burying Water was good, Becoming Rain was good too, Chasing River was very great and Surviving Ice is amazing.
The characters are well defined and they seemed so real. It’s amazing to see how people can think when money is in the discussion. The people who have money always think they are above the limits and legality.
And have you seen this cover, she’s absolutely gorgeous, I love the girl on the cover, she’s so Ivy.
