Synopsis (from goodreads)

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she knows it isn’t love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

When nurse in training Tate Collins moves in with her pilot’s brother, Corbin, she never expected to meet the only boy who will shattered her heart, Miles Archer. Tate works a lot and doesn’t have much time for a relationship. She’s smart and kind, she knows that under Miles’s armor there is a big heart with sadness. She also knows that he’s interested in her more than for sex but doesn’t want to admit it.

Miles as always been honest with Tate, Don’t expect anything more than sex from me, but despite that, her feelings grew stronger each time he smiles or touches her. But love for Miles is impossible; he doesn’t want it and won’t let Tate enter his life. Miles is a complex character; he’s a young pilot with a hard past who destroyed him for all kind of love. He’s attracted by Tate but has two rules: No asking about his past and no talking about the future. These two rules are very hard to follow for Tate.

They are very attracted to each other but Miles is sometimes hot and other times cold, that made it difficult for Tate to know his feelings. I love when they are together, they loves each other even if they doesn’t know it. Tate will fight for a chance of future with Miles even if it’s hard to fight against a man who doesn’t want it.

Colleen Hoover proves once again that she’s a master storyteller. She can write story that shows that happy ending cost many tears and heartaches. And beautiful, forever love can come from broken, sad and ugly love. You must never give up if you believe in someone, fight for your love.

The story is told by Tate in the present and Miles six years ago. The alternates point of vue is nice and it shows what happened to Miles and what are his feelings.

Important thing to say is that Ugly Love will be adapted in a movie with Nick Bateman as Miles Archer.

  1. Great review even though Ugly Love was not my favorite Colleen Hoover book and I didn’t love it as much as I love Confess. But I did really enjoyed it and it made me continue on reading more books by Colleen Hoover. Thank you for the awesome post.
