My life was full of my sister’s laughter and miles of green trees.
Then the black car came.
Strangers in sharp suits dragged my father back to a past he kept hidden. Worse, they made him choose one of us—his own children—to go and live with his enemies. It’s a way to keep him working for them… and from running again.
I’m a hostage.
The food is fancy, the carpets are lush, but this bed isn’t mine. I don’t belong here and my head and heart know it. I’m painfully alone.
And then I’m not.
The first time I meet Dominic Bradley, he saves me from a maid with a pair of scissors. This sweet boy is nothing like the rest of his family. He becomes the only sunlight in these smothering halls. The one person holding me together.
When he leaves for six years, it shreds my soul.
It’s nothing compared to when he comes back.
Gone is my sweet boy. In his place is a hardened soldier ready to obey his father. He’s gained new demons; and I’ve lost my only friend. Dominic acts like he’s forgotten our past. But I can’t. It’s impossible to forget the moment I fell in love.
I know where we began.
I’m not sure where we’ll end.

Where we began tells us the story of Leika and Dominic, it’s told in both POV.

Leika lived with her parents, her sister Kara and her brother Dean in a cottage lost in the forrest, but one day everything changed. Strangers came and ask her father to choose between his two girl to be taken, Leika was twelve and Kara was eleven, Leika choose herself to go. She goes in the Bradley’s home, Annie the mother took her from her family and Leika doesn’t like this woman. She was thinking it will only be three month, but six years later she’s always there.

Leika is a good girl, she’s nice, full of light and happiness, she has hope even with all the things that happens. I really like her, she is sweet and naïve, she was educated at home by her mother and she doesn’t know anything about the new technologies but she knows a lot of thing about nature. She keeps hope to see her sister one day, I like that she keeps her hair like she did to keep her promise to her sister. The first time she sees Dominic, he saved her from his maid and their scissors. Dominic was twelve like her and he is the Bradley’s sons. She likes him instantly and he became her friend, except that one month later he was gone and she was alone again. That’s so sweet to see her interact with Dominic. She doesn’t have luck, the mistakes of her father forces her to live far from her family with another one who didn’t even like her only child.

Dominic at twelve is an adorable boy, but after six years he changed and even if he’s attracted by Leika, he wants the approbation of his father more than anything. He came back but not as a friend for Leika. I’m intrigued by the secret he kept, I’m like Leika at first I can’t believe he did this without a good reason. But maybe I’m wrong.

This story was really good, the fact that Leika was an hostage make me feels a lot of thing, I understand why the people working for the Bradley’s tell nothing but how can a father let this happen. This family has a lot of secret and I’m really sad for Leika because she doesn’t deserve any of this. Dominic lied to her, the Bradley’s lied to her, her father lied to her and even her sister. I’m so pissed that in the end she choose to believe her sister who changed and lied to her.

I’m so impatient to read Where we ended which is coming out March 20th, 2018. 14 days to wait and I will know the end of the beautiful love story between Leika and Dominic. I really hope that she could save his soul and he could save her from his family.

Quick Word: A beautiful love story between two different people.

About Nora Flite

A USA Today Bestselling Author, Nora Flite lives in SoCal where the weather is warm and she doesn’t have to shovel snow—something she never grew to love in her tiny home-state of Rhode Island.
All of her romances involve passionate, filthy, and slightly obsessive heroes—because those are clearly the best kind! She’s always been a writer, and you’ll probably have to pry her keyboard/pen/magical future writing device out of her cold, dead fingers before she’ll stop.
She loves when people say hello! If you see her in the wild, walk up and start chatting. Or hey, just email her—
