“What’s it like dating one of the most beautiful men in the world? A man whose face is on every magazine and ad campaign?

Not as much fun as it sounds, as Anna Scott is about to find out.

Retired from rugby at the age of 33, injured and bored, Nick is given the chance to enter the high stakes world of fashion photography as a model.

But behind the glittering façade lies an ugly reality: drugs, alcohol, all the deadly sins, and people willing to sleep their way to the top.

It’s a tough life and tougher on relationships.

Nick needs to learn to navigate the treacherous path quickly or risk losing it all—including the woman who has become his reason for living.

In this glamorous world, there is no room for error. Being a MODEL BOYFRIEND has never been harder.

Can nice guy Nick find his way through, or will he be tempted to risk it all? Because the one thing he despises is failure.

He’s a lot more than a pretty face.”

This story continues where UNDEFEATED left off, although it can also be read as a stand-alone story in its own right.

Model boyfriend happens after undefeated, Anna and Nick are still together but Nick stops his Rugbyman career. He will have trouble living his moments, he will wonder what he can do with his life and especially he will leave Anna a little aside, even if it is not voluntary. He will be tempted by the life of a model and discover that this profession is not all rosy either.

I liked this second book, Nick becomes aware of many things, he will take time to understand what is important in his life but once he will have discovered it he will not give up anything more. I really like his strength of character, his love for his passions, whether rugby or photography. I liked discovering him in another register than rugby and I appreciated seeing him asking himself questions about his future. What I didn’t appreciate as much was what he did to Anna, he didn’t realize that she was sacrificing her life for him and her soul states.

Anna is lucky to have Brendan at her side, she doesn’t always listen to his good advice but he still manages to cheer her up and be there for her no matter what happens in her life. He’s her little ray of sunshine and I love Brendan. I’m glad Jane and Stuart decided to give him more importance in this book.

I like Anna, she is a charming character, we see her much less in this second volume but she is always present in Nick’s thoughts. She will have to face her feelings, her jealousy and especially she will also have to think about her future with Nick.

I had a good time with Nick and Anna, it was nice to discover the behind the scenes of modeling and the moments when Nick is in Carcassonne or Cannes have much more.

Quick word: A second book that will transport you in Nick Renshaw’s mind.
