Synopsis

A brand new novella in the New York Times bestselling series featuring vampires in the Windy City.

Merit, Sentinel of Chicago’s Cadogan House, is pregnant. She’s ready to meet her daughter, but also very excited about the possibility of seeing her feet again. But trouble always seems to find her…

Ethan and Merit have been married for eight months, and they’re preparing for life-with-baby. Ethan’s battling his overprotectiveness, while Merit’s hoping she can figure out how to be a loving parent given her family’s chilliness.

While out on an evening walk, Merit stops to help a human in need, only to find herself under attack. A sociopath with a debt figures pregnant Merit is an easy target–and Cadogan House would pay handsomely for her return…

Review

Did I ever tell you how much I love this series, it’s thanks to Chloe Neill and this series that I read fluently in VO and frankly this little novella made me very happy.

Merit is pregnant, she doesn’t change her habits, always eats as much and doesn’t hesitate to go out to change her mind. When one night she is attacked by a vampire who wants to take her hostage, and who threatens her baby, you might as well know that things are going badly. Whether Merit or Ethan, neither wants their baby touched, like any self-respecting parent.

I liked this story, Ethan protective as always, and even more since Merit is pregnant, and then we see Margot a lot in this novella and it is something that I like very much. Just like the fact that she is getting closer to Jonah, they both deserve to find love and they are so adorable together.

Quick word: A story led by master hands that brought me back to Merit and Ethan with pleasure.

Chronique
