Synopsis

Companion novella for INTO THE STARS!

Of all the Hornets, the galaxy’s elite fighters, Hans Rawko was always the one smiling and troublemaking. But after his last mission when he loses his best friend in combat, he’s a changed man. Rawk is in a dark place and the last thing he wants is the little sister of his hardass boss trying to get in his head.

Lanna Lexon’s had a crush on Hans since she first laid eyes on the soldier at sixteen. She knows her brother would never allow one of his men to date her, but when she hears about Rawk’s PTSD she can’t pass up an opportunity to travel to Mars to see him. Hans might be able to push away everyone else, but Lanna has the stubborn streak of her brother, the Captain, and she won’t give up so easily.

Review

First of all this book can be read without having read the first one, but I still advise you to read Into the stars in order to understand the characters, especially Rawko, Russel and Reesa.

This book tells the story of Lanna, Captain Lexon’s sister and therefore Reesa’s sister-in-law. Lanna always had a little crush on Hans Rawko, a teammate of her brother. Unfortunately for her the Hornets did not usually disobey their captain’s orders and Rawko always stayed away from Lanna.

If you read the first book, you know that Rawko lost his best friend at the end of it. He is having great difficulty recovering and his captain must return to Mars for one last mission. He will take Reesa with him because she misses her planet and he will also have to take Lanna.

I liked Lanna, her feelings for Hans are real, you’d think it was just a fling but no. She is hurt to see him with so many women and she still does not know everything because Reesa has hidden certain things from him. I was a little scared at first when I saw that Reesa had not told Lanna the truth about her, I feared the worst and I was happily surprised at what happened. She will have to fight with Hans’ grouchy character but also make her brother understand that she is an adult now, while discovering a new planet where people are sexually open.

I really liked Hans in the first book and I like him even more now, he may be cold and distant now, it’s a defense mechanism and nothing more. I enjoyed seeing him gradually open up to Lanna and the ending is just beautiful. He really was a character who deserved a book.

This second book is really more focused on emotion and feelings than the first, I cried a lot, for Hans and also for Lanna.

I’d really like to know the story of all the Hornet’s even if I know it’s going to be complicated but I see a certain story between two people….

Quick word: A second book rich in rebound and just as exciting as the first.

Chronique

About the author

She’s a wife and a mom, a daughter and a friend. She’s just your average chick, but with a wickedly sexy imagination and the urge to write it down.

ESCAPE FROM PARADISE is her first adult novel (contemporary dark romance). INTO THE STARS is her second, a futuristic erotic romance.

All of the books she add to her Goodreads shelves are ones she’s enjoyed and would recommend! If she doesn’t love a book, she doesn’t add it.
