The Great Pursuit by Wendy Higgins

Book two in the Eurona Duology

Publisher: Harper Teen

Publication date: March 7th, 2017

Source: Hardcover

Rating: 5 hearts

Lochlanach has traded the great beast for something far more terrible, a Lashed enemy veiled in beauty, deception, and a vengeance passed down through generations: Rozaria Rocato. And she’s offering the hunter Paxton Seabolt power and acceptance he could never receive in his homeland. Pax must decide how far he’s willing to go under her tutelage, knowing she is the opponent of Princess Aerity Lochson.

In a land where traditionalists dread change, the Lochlan throne must contend with mysterious foes and traitors, while attempting to keep revolt at bay. As dire circumstances strike the royal family, matters of the castle are left in Aerity’s hands. It’s time to put aside her fears and grasp the reign, taking actions that have the potential to save or destroy her people.

One hunt has ended, but the pursuit for love and justice continue. In this sequel to The Great Hunt from New York Times bestselling author Wendy Higgins, political intrigue and romance intensify in another thrilling fantasy. Princess Aerity embraces a quest for identity and passion before making the ultimate sacrifice for her kingdom.

Paxton ran away, Aerity is getting married to Lief, Winneth is troubled and Vixie wants Tiern. This is where we are at the beginning of The Great Pursuit and Rosaria has big projects for magic owners.

Aerity is a princess who does everything for her people, she has an open mind and her intentions are pure, she is also a fighting girl. She will risk her life in a difficult quest but she will discover that her people need to have a Princess on whom they can count.

Paxton is adorable and I love the way he protects Aerity, he asks a lot of questions but his courage brings a lot to the story. He will get dangerously close to Rosaria but he will always keep in mind the person who holds his heart.

Vixie, Aerity’s younger sister is adorable, she’s a girl full of spirit and charm, Winneth has become more important in this last book, she’s going to rediscover love and I really like that.

The story is full of action and twists, should we let the magic owners live with us or should we bully them? Of course the first choice is the right one and that’s the one Aerity will fight for. This is the choice we all have to make in our lives on various subjects.

I loved that duology and I loved that Wendy Higgins didn’t hesitate to kill people.

Quick word: A duology to read if you like action, romance and magic.
