She will become one of the world’s greatest heroes: WONDER WOMAN. But first she is Diana, Princess of the Amazons. And her fight is just beginning. . . .

Diana longs to prove herself to her legendary warrior sisters. But when the opportunity finally comes, she throws away her chance at glory and breaks Amazon law—risking exile—to save a mere mortal. Even worse, Alia Keralis is no ordinary girl and with this single brave act, Diana may have doomed the world.

Alia just wanted to escape her overprotective brother with a semester at sea. She doesn’t know she is being hunted. When a bomb detonates aboard her ship, Alia is rescued by a mysterious girl of extraordinary strength and forced to confront a horrible truth: Alia is a Warbringer—a direct descendant of the infamous Helen of Troy, fated to bring about an age of bloodshed and misery.

Together, Diana and Alia will face an army of enemies—mortal and divine—determined to either destroy or possess the Warbringer. If they have any hope of saving both their worlds, they will have to stand side by side against the tide of war.

So first of all know that I’m a fan of Wonder Woman, this girl is so strong and then let’s face it the choice of female superhero is limited. I wasn’t sure what to expect with this book, and I can tell you that I am absolutely not disappointed. I took a little time to get into history but as soon as Diana and Alia leave the island everything starts and I had a lot of trouble stopping.

Diana is young, so she has doubts, her mother doesn’t believe in her abilities, her sisters think she is privileged because she’s the queen’s daughter but also because she isn’t dead to become an amazon. She hasn’t proved her worth. When a boat sinks and Diana decides to save Alia, everything will change, Diana will have to make an important decision and risk losing everything she knows.

I love Diana, her reactions have made me laugh but she learns quickly, she is impulsive, strong and she knows what she wants. She has a heart of gold, she’s ready to sacrifice everything she knows to save a human and the world.

Alia has a lot of courage, she thinks first that Diana is a crazy but little by little she will learn to trust her and she will especially understand that Diana doesn’t want her any harm unlike some other people.

Alia and Diana will be helped by Jason, Alia’s brother, Nim, Alia’s best friend and Theo Jason’s best friend. They will travel the world to allow Alia to have a normal life, the path will be strewn with pitfalls, Gods and Godess.

I loved this story, the fact that the story happens with young people is very interesting, I was not surprised by the end even if I confess that I would have preferred to be wrong. In any case you will find the spirit of Wonder Woman and the pen of Leigh Bardugo.

Now I cannot wait to read Batman of Marie Lu.

Quick Word: A dive into the world of Wonder Woman.
