Synopsis
A broken heart is never an easy one to mend.
Alice spent years forming a new identity while chasing her dreams. A fresh start was just what she needed. When she scores the leading role in a Broadway hit, a new world of possibilities opens up, including singing the National Anthem at the very game her ex was playing.
The biggest mistake of Easton’s life was ending things with Alice before they left for college. No woman has gotten close to him since. Instead, his primary focus is on his baseball career. While warming up before a game, a voice comes over the speakers as the Anthem is sung. A voice that causes something deep to stir inside of him.
Is it possible to rekindle a romance after so much damage was done? This game is bigger than any Easton has ever played. Two hearts are on the line. Either he’ll strike out or slide into home for the win. There’s only one way to find out.
Review
Alice and Easton were in love at the College and then their studies separated them or rather Easton leaves Alice to protect her, from what? good question.
Alice has since grown up and moved on in life, she still watches Easton’s games, she is still attached to him even if he mades her suffer. Her career finally flies away, when one night she sees Easton again.
Easton is still thinking about Alice, we wonder why he left her since he is finally waiting for her but it is beautiful so we forgive him. His career as a BaseBall player took off and when he accompanied a friend to a show he met Alice again.
They will learn to know each other again, to understand each other, to love each other and to live together but far away.
I loved both characters, their vivacities, their desires, their projects, the way they see the world and life. Easton is a very simple boy and so is Alice despite their respective careers. I liked to see the evolution of their relationship, their reunions, the sexy moments and even the sad moments.
Katrina Marie and C.L King wrote this novel in perfect symbiosis and it is a very beautiful story they tell us.
Quick word: A very beautiful story of love and forgiveness.
Chronique
