Synopsis
Eighteen-year-old Trinity Marrow may be going blind, but she can see and communicate with ghosts and spirits. Her unique gift is part of a secret so dangerous that she’s been in hiding for years in an isolated compound fiercely guarded by Wardens—gargoyle shape-shifters who protect humankind from demons. If the demons discover the truth about Trinity, they’ll devour her, flesh and bone, to enhance their own powers.
When Wardens from another clan arrive with disturbing reports that something out there is killing both demons and Wardens, Trinity’s safe world implodes. Not the least because one of the outsiders is the most annoying and fascinating person she’s ever met. Zayne has secrets of his own that will upend her world yet again—but working together becomes imperative once demons breach the compound and Trinity’s secret comes to light. To save her family and maybe the world, she’ll have to put her trust in Zayne. But all bets are off as a supernatural war is unleashed…
Review
In Storm & Fury we discover Trinity, a young girl who lives among the Gargoyles and is protected by them. We will find out a little later the reason for this. Her best friend and protector Misha is kidnapped and she will go looking for him with Zayne.
In the first part of the story we discover Trinity and her world, her friends, her family and her character. She is an extremely curious person, a little too curious. I would even say that she is a little selfish and thinks too often about herself and her feelings and less about Misha’s for example.
I had a lot of fun meeting Zayne, he has changed a lot and his “I’m brooding” side is annoying at times but he has charm and humour when he wants. He’s going to fall for Trinity and help him find Misha.
I loved meeting Roth and Layla again, I love Roth, I’ve always been Team Roth and even now my heart still capsizes when it’s there because it’s funny, it’s beautiful, sexy and evil.
The story is interesting even if everything happens mainly around the last third of the book. I still have many unanswered questions but I look forward to reading more. And I would like to see more Bambi….
Quick Word: A first volume that puts us in the bath.
Chronique
