Synopsis

Princess or adventurer.

Duty or freedom.

Her Kingdom or the Stormhunter she loves.

If Aurora knows anything, it’s that choices have consequences. To set things right, she joins a growing revolution on the streets of Pavan.

In disguise as the rebel Roar, she puts her knowledge of the palace to use to aid the rebellion. But the Rage season is at its peak and not a day passes without the skies raining down destruction. Yet these storms are different—they churn with darkness, and attack with a will that’s desperate and violent.

This feels like more than rage.

It feels like war.

Review

Rage resumes at the end of Roar, Aurora returned to Pavan to try to save her people from the Locke and the stormlord. She will meet the rebels, she will also have to confess the truth to Kiran, Jinx and all the others about her true identity.

We have several points of view, that of Roar of course, but also those of Kiran, Novaya, Cassius and Cruze.

It was a real pleasure to find all the characters I had loved so much in the first book. They have evolved a lot and although I am quite disappointed with how long it takes Roar to tell her friends the truth, I still understand her reasons.

I loved seeing Roar take control of herself with the will to save her people, to change mentalities and not to ruin her relationship and friendships in the process. So yes, there are ups and downs, but she’s finally taking responsibility and I like it.

Kiran is a mule’s head, his objective is to protect Roar but obviously when he discovers the truth he is more or less upset. His reactions are normal even if it breaks my heart.

I really enjoyed having Cassius’ feelings and thoughts, I can’t manage to hate him totally because even if his methods are deplorable I still think he has a good heart. Now I ask to see in the last volume. Especially since I was quite surprised by the end of Rage.

We are also discovering Novaya much more, I find her very endearing and I really hope that the relationship she has managed to establish with Jinx will not end soon.

Cruze is a rather interesting character, not developed enough despite all the chapters of his point of view but we understand a little more things.

I really loved this book and I hope we don’t have to wait too long before we know the end of the story.

Quick word: A series full of action and twists and turns.

Chronique
