Synopsis

Nothing ever happens in Norway. But at least Ellie knows what to expect when she visits her grandmother: a tranquil fishing village and long, slow summer days. And maybe she’ll finally get out from under the shadow of her way-too-perfect big brother, Graham, while she’s there.

What Ellie doesn’t anticipate is Graham’s infuriating best friend, Tuck, tagging along for the trip. Nor did she imagine boys going missing amid rumors of impossible kidnappings. Least of all does she expect something powerful and ancient to awaken in her and that strange whispers would urge Ellie to claim her place among mythological warriors. Instead of peace and quiet, there’s suddenly a lot for a girl from L.A. to handle on a summer sojourn in Norway! And when Graham vanishes, it’s up to Ellie—and the ever-sarcastic, if undeniably alluring Tuck—to uncover the truth about all the disappearances and thwart the nefarious plan behind them.

Deadly legends, hidden identities, and tentative romance swirl together in one girl’s unexpectedly-epic coming of age.

Review

Ellie needs to get out from under her brother Graham’s shadow. Graham is so popular that Ellie is lonely, she’s also a little in love with her brother Tuck’s best friend.

Ellie’s going to Iceland to her grandmother’s where Tuck and Graham are going to join her.

I loved this book, I have always been fascinated by the Valkyries, these strong and independent women.

Ellie is a young girl who arrives in Iceland with the intention of having fun and enjoying her holiday. She will soon become disenchanted and learn a lot about herself and her grandmother.

I loved the time between Ellie and Tuck. They’re both so cute. You can tell they’re attracted to each other, but the fact that Graham is Tuck’s best friend kind of blocks him out.

The mood of this book is really great. Tuck’s a nice guy, he’s also hiding his own secrets but he really likes Graham and Ellie. He’ll help Ellie save Graham.

Another character I liked is Loki, and yes, the same one as in the mythology. He’s absolutely brilliant, arrogant but brilliant.

Quick word: A must read Valkyrie story.

Chronique
