Synopsis
I’ve lived in nine towns in the past six years. I know my mom feels bad about it, but I don’t mind. Who wants friends anyway?
All I’ve ever needed are my books. I’ve lived a thousand lives, had adventures I couldn’t even begin to imagine. To me, the places I discovered between the pages of a book are as real as the world I live in.
When I walk into my favorite bookstore, the last thing I expect is to walk out onto the pages of the kingdom of Mithres…or that the book boyfriend I’ve loved more than life, Kane the Traveler, really exists. And he has no clue the fate that awaits him in book five…
Now that I know the truth, I have a chance to save Kane. But if I change the story, will I ever find my way home?
Review
Edie is the heroine of this story, she changes cities very often, her father tried to kill her and her mother is overprotective. She’s a fan of The Chronicles of the Traveler and the hero Kane the Traveler. She doesn’t expect to find herself in this world when she walks into her favorite bookstore. And yet she finds herself with Kane and all the characters in the story. She’s going to have to protect him and at the same time understand why she’s in this world.
The concept is interesting, Edie is going to meet her book boyfriend, who wouldn’t dream of living that!
I had a good time with all the protagonists and I was surprised by a passage in the book.
Edie, also nicknamed Cupcake by Kane is a pretty brave girl, she takes her mission seriously and she will discover things about herself that she never imagined.
Kane isn’t the perfect hero but he doesn’t get better the more you get to know him, the more you understand his motives and the more you appreciate him.
I had a great time with this book and I’d love to read the rest of the book to find out how this story will end.
Quick word: A book to have a good time.
Chronique
About the author
Emily writes the kinds of books she wants to read. Fast-paced books with lots of world-building, snarky heroines, and swoony heroes. she loves story, pop culture, gossip, and baked goods. She’s a modern-day hippy and certified LEGO nerd.
She lives in the Austin, Texas hill country, with her geeky husband and two extremely geeky kids. They have dogs, chickens, cats, and more LEGOs than should be allowed by law. Oh, and she stress bake. So if her characters talk about food a lot, that’s why.
