Synopsis
Dangerous secrets and forbidden desires lead to shocking consequences… Don’t miss book two of the fantastical Harbinger trilogy from #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout.
“Jennifer L. Armentrout’s intoxicating new fantasy is her best yet!” — New York Times bestselling author Gena Showalter on Storm and Fury
A half human, half angel and her bonded gargoyle protector must work with demons to stop the apocalypse while avoiding falling in love. The Harbinger is coming…but who or what is it? All of humankind may fall if Trinity and Zayne can’t win the race against time as dark forces gather.
As tensions rise, they must stay close together and patrol the DC streets at night, seeking signs of the Harbinger, an entity that is killing Wardens and demons with no seeming rhyme or reason. Forbidden to be with each other, Zayne and Trinity fight their feelings and turn to unusual sources for help—the demon Roth and his cohorts. But as deaths pile up and they uncover a sinister plot involving the local high school and endangering someone dear to Zayne, Trin realizes she is being led…herded…played for some unknown end. As anger builds and feelings spiral out of control, it becomes clear that rage may be the ruin of them all.
Review
Rage and Ruin is book two of Zayne and Trinity series, the tension rises and the evil grows.
The story begins following the events of book one, we have a summary of the events by Peanut, Trinity’s ghost friend. Zayne will train Trinity and the tension between the two will increase, sexual or otherwise.
Trinity will become aware of the growing danger, she will also become aware of her feelings towards zayne. I like Trinity very much, she doesn’t let herself be stepped on, she is stubborn, gets annoyed quite easily and talks too fast sometimes to the point of regretting her words. Which has sometimes annoyed me. However, these are completely understandable reactions.
Zayne has always followed the rules, but it has never really helped her. So he’s going to protect Trinity, but he’s also going to seduce her. I like Zayne, he is always attentive to others, I am under the charm even if I admit that Roth remains and will remain my darling.
Roth is important in this tome, he will help Zayne and Trinity and as usual I really liked his humor, he gives a light spirit in a story that is not always light.
I’m really looking forward to reading the next book because this ending is quite intriguing, I also want to know if and how they will manage to beat the Harbinger.
Jennifer L Aremntrout has always been able to get me into her stories and I am once again very happy to get into this one.
Quick word: A very successful second volume and a suspenseful ending.
Chronique
