Less than a year ago, Evelyn Dasher was a normal girl, living an unremarkable life.

Now, she’s on the run, under the protection of the beautiful, deadly inhuman Luc. She’s been betrayed by those who were closest to her. And she’s learned truths about herself that she never saw coming–things she once knew, and was made to forget. Truths with devastating consequences. She’s caught in the eye of the storm.

Review

In this third volume we find Luc and Evie safe in the area where Kat, Daemon, Asher, Dee, Bethany and Dawson have taken refuge. However the Daedalus is still looking for Evie. Evie’s powers are beginning to increase and Luc will teach her how to control them. Other powers are appearing and developing. She will have to learn to control herself so as not to endanger the people she loves.

I like Evie a lot, she’s stubborn but it’s a character thing that helps her a lot with Luc and Grayson. She doesn’t let herself be taken advantage of and now she knows how to defend herself. She has a good heart, she loves Luc very much, she realizes during brief moments when her memory comes back that her time in Daedalus was not all rest and that she did not do only good things. She will have to learn to live with it and she can count on Luc to help her.

Luc also has some great moments in this tome, Evie discovers that for her, he is ready for anything and that he has done some really reprehensible things, like letting Blake and the Daedalus capture and torture Kat. He’s going to have to learn to live with that too.

I really enjoyed seeing Kat and Daemon again, I still love them so much, they’re amazing and I feel like with the arrival of baby Adam, they want to change the world even more so that they can be better.

Might as well be honest with you this volume is great, the ending is a real cliffangher, you’re going to want the last book because it’s something you don’t expect to happen. However, I can’t wait but I must say that since I know Jennifer L Armentrout’s books, I have no doubt that this story will end well no matter what happens, at least for Luc and Evie.

Quick word: A third volume that focuses more on Evie’s learning, there is a little less action but it sets the stage for the finale.

Chronique
