Synopsis
I promised to avenge my parents.
But their killer is still on the loose, and he’s stolen more than my parents’ lives. Now, as he draws closer to his mysterious goals, he’s poised to destroy what little I have left.
I promised to translate an ancient grimoire.
But it holds the secrets of my family—and the secret history of demon summoning. I fear its answers as much as I need them. Who was the foremother of Demonica…and who am I?
I promised to send my demon home.
But the way he watches me, the way he protects me, the way he touches me—how can I cast him away forever? I swore I would do this for him, but can I? Should I?
But I promised—and I will keep my promises even if they cost me my heart, my soul, and my life.
Review
Here we are for the last time with Robin and Zylas, will Robin succeed in sending him back to his world? Can there be a happy ending for these two? You’ll find out for yourself because I won’t tell you anything.
I loved to see the evolution of Robin and Zylas. The demon learned to live with humans, to respect them and he also discovered love. Robin, on the other hand, learned more about her family, about her feelings towards Zylas and she also realized that she cared a lot about Amalia.
This last book brings us the ending we were hoping for, and most of all, answers to our questions. We learn more about the world of demons and personally I loved it.
My heart vibrated until the end, the events were intense and I am happy with this ending.
I won’t review it any longer because I will never be able to make you feel all my emotions.
Quick Word: An absolutely perfect volume to end the series.
Chronique
About the author
Annette Marie is the author of YA urban fantasy series Steel & Stone, its prequel trilogy Spell Weaver, romantic fantasy Red Winter, and sassy UF series The Guild Codex.
Her first love is fantasy, while fast-paced adventures and tantalizing forbidden romances are her guilty pleasures. She proudly admits she has a thing for dragons, and her editor has inquired as to whether she intends to include them in every single book.
Annette lives in the frozen winter wasteland of Alberta, Canada (okay, it’s not quite that bad). She shares her life with her husband and their furry minion of darkness—sorry, cat—Caesar. When not writing, she can be found elbow-deep in one art project or another while blissfully ignoring all adult responsibilities.
