Synopsis

Hirka prepares to meet the ruling house of a cold, hierarchical world where contempt for weakness is paramount. Reluctantly, she accepts her fate, hoping to keep Rime alive and Ymslanda safe. But the dead borns thirst for the Might is absolute and Hirka realize that war she wanted to prevent, is inevitable. An awareness that will soon challenge everything she ever believed in and fought for.

‘The Might’ is the third and final book in the acclaimed fantasy series ‘The Raven Rings’. A spectacular finale that explores roots, power and arrogance.

Review

This trilogy is one of the best fantasy I have read in the last few years. We discover a complex world with characters having very human and realistic reactions. This last volume closes the trilogy perfectly, we get all the answers to our questions.

Hirka is one of my favorite characters, in this volume she proves once again that kindness and goodness are very strong values and that we must know how to forgive. She chooses to save people and give them a chance. She has grown a lot since the first book and I appreciate her evolution.

Rhyme has done some regrettable things, he knows it and he lives with it. He doesn’t mope because he killed people, he regrets it, he is aware that it is wrong but he also knows that it was inevitable to save the people they love.

I loved this whole trilogy and I must admit that I have always been interested in Scandinavian stories and myths so I couldn’t resist.

Quick word : A trilogy to read absolutely and I hope that one day it will be translated into French.

Chronique

About the author

Siri was born in 1971, under the northern lights of Norway, with a severely overactive imagination. It survived countless attacks from the outside world, rendering her an expert escapist, frolicking in a wide range of media: Design, web, comics, illustration, animation and text. Anything for a good story. In 2002 she won a national comic contest with “Anticlimax”, the comic strip that made her “Newcomer of the year” in the Norwegian Sproing Awards. Siri has worked as an Art Director for many years, but she is now writing full time, devoted to her fantastical worlds.
