As a young woman, Abby Carmichael had it all—until the night a stranger tore it away…
A year and half after the brutal sexual assault, Abby is finally starting to feel like her old self. Teaching dance classes with enthusiastic kids is just the kind of job she needs—far away from probing eyes or vicious intentions of the opposite sex. When she connects with one of her students, Natalie, it isn’t long until she meets her father, Deputy Ben James.
Ben James is just a regular guy, working to make a life for himself and his daughter…
That’s what Abby tells herself when her sudden attraction for Ben catches her off guard. Abby has been steering clear of men for obvious reasons, and the idea of wanting that kind of relationship is more terrifying than intriguing. But with his doe-eyed daughter tugging at her dance uniform, Ben takes notice.
He’s ready for love, but does her past hold too many secrets?
After the assault, Abby coped by using heavy medication and fell into an ugly chain of one-night stands. But now that she’s out of rehab and finally on the right track, it’s only a matter of time before Ben finds out.
Will Abby be the true love Ben has always wanted? Or is she a tangled challenge, leading to yet another…
Abby is a young girl who was rapped, the brutal attack changes her, in the book we aren’t seeing her before but she’s broken and it’s very deep. I had cry a lot because her story is sad, fortunately, she has a very great family who is here for her, and they never let her down. They want the best for her and they want to keep her safe. I like the family bond in Broken Love, it’s important to count on your family when something hard hit you. Abby is broken but she’s strong, I know it’s hard to believe that a girl can be broken and strong, she just need a little push in the good direction.
Ben is so great, he’s a lonely father, his daughter is absolutely cute, and she’s 3 years old and innocent. He is a deputy and his mother and sister are present in his life a lot. Du to his shift, they are doing babysitting a lot. He is very protective with his family and also with Abby, he knows something bad happened because of her reactions and panic attack but he doesn’t push her to tell him anything, he let her do the thing at her pace.
I really like the relation between Abby and Ben, she’s growing slowly and it’s a good thing considering the story. As I already said before, Broken Love is also a story with good family relation, they aren’t only here because an accident happened, they are strong together, whether it is Abby’s family or Ben’s family.
I really like this book, I read it fast because once I begin it I needed to know more and see where the author send the characters.
Broken Love is a story of a damaged woman who learns to trust again and have hope for the future.
