A storm is coming.

Sixteen-year-old Mia’s life is turned upside down when she uncovers her family secret-that she and her brother Dino are witches. Seeking refuge in an ancient castle, the siblings begin down a path that will change their lives forever. Suddenly thrust into a world where handsome warriors command the power of nature and peoples thoughts and actions can be manipulated at will, Mia and Dino struggle to navigate their own allegiances and do what they know to be right, even when everything around them seems beyond their control.

Mia and Dino are brothers and sisters, one night Mia read an inscription on the wall of her basement and a fire began. Their mother tell them that they are witches and sent them away in the glass castle where they will learn to control their powers.

There are two sorts of witches, the Arcana and the Hunter. Arcanas are witches linked with nature and Hunters are burn like this and they are strong, dangerous and attract by blood. Their territory in the glass castle is the forest, if an Arcana goes to their territory, they can kill him. Of course Mia will be attracted by a Hunter, Colt.

Mia is young, she’s sixteen and her reaction is totally the one of a sixteen years old girl. She wants to know what her power is and when she knows, she wants to control it. Her relation with her brother is complex since they’ve discovered their power. Dino can hear the feelings of people and it’s really hard for him, so he’s awful with his sister. Mia is a sweet girl, she loves her brother even if she’s angry with him, she try to protect him.

Dino has some issue with the fact that he has power but he’s a good boy who’ll do everything to protect his sister. His power gives him headache and it’s hard for him to be with other people. Fortunately, he will become friend with a Benny Blue.

Colt is a Hunter and like all of them, he’s arrogant, fierce, strong and dangerous. His three brothers are his coven, Lotan who is the boss, Siren and Roc. They are handsome and attractive but so bad.

I like Mia, she’s young and refreshing, she’s afraid but not too much, she can feel the danger and she’s strong in a certain way. Dino is lost and I think that his character is well described; it’s a pleasure to follow him and to see what he thinks and what he’ll do.  Colt can be an ass but he’s also a nice guy, mostly with Mia but it’s all I ask.

The dialog between Mia and Dino are so fun, I like the way they talk to each other. The story is nice and even if the end is not a surprise, it’s great. The story is told by Mia, Dino and Colt POV mostly. The separation between the pov is the only thing that disturbs me. It’s not always clear but I like to read the story with different people.

I really enjoy my reading and now I will read the book 2 because I’m attached to Mia, Colt and Dino.

Gabriella Lepore let us enter a magical world full of surprises, love, friendship and family. Her style is fluid and this book can be read very fast.

Quick word: When a Hunter meet an Arcana, the magic exploded.
