Synopsis
Love―on the rocks….
The last thing Vaughan Hewson expects to find when he returns to his childhood home is a broken hearted bride in his shower, let alone the drama and chaos that come with her.
Lydia Green doesn’t know whether to scream or cry in a corner. Discovering the love of your life is having an affair on your wedding day is bad enough. Finding out it’s with his best man is another thing all together.
Just when this runaway bride has nowhere left to turn, a handsome stranger offers her a broad, muscular shoulder to cry on. Vaughan is the exact opposite of the picture perfect, respected businessmen she’s normally drawn to. This former musician-turned-bartender is rough around the edges and is facing his own crossroads. But Lydia’s already tried Mr. Right and discovered he’s all wrong–maybe it’s time to give Mr. Right Now a chance.
After all, what’s wrong with getting dirty?
Dirty is the first book in the Dive Bar series from bestselling author Kylie Scott.
Review
The story is very friendly although somewhat lacking in originality. I’m not going to summary because the synopsis is more than enough to understand the story and it is really no surprise.
I loved the character of Lydia, which although she’s a little lost, she still happens to recover and trust herself. She thinks about the future and not to the utter failure of her last relationship.
Vaughan is absolutely magical, I love this guy, he is hot and sexy, perfect and imperfect in the same time. He knows how to make himself desirable and I love his expressions and his way of communicating with Lydia.
The situation of the two characters makes us live quite original situations and I love those moments. Lydia will have to change her life and it’s very nice to see her try and find her way.
There are some heated moments with them but as in any good romance which respects itself, it never lasts very long.
I enjoyed the moments spent in the bar and in addition, Vaughan does not know what he wants, but he gets better to the end.
I like the style of Kylie Scott, it’s fluid and light, very good reading for the summer and I really look forward to reading the second volume on Joe.
