Synopsis
Rosie
They say that life is a beautiful lie and death a painful truth. They’re right.
No one has ever made me feel more alive than the guy who serves as a constant reminder that my clock is ticking.
He is my forbidden, shiny apple.
The striking fallacy to my blunt, raw, truth.
He is also my sister’s ex-boyfriend.
One thing you should know before you judge me;
I saw him first. I craved him first. I loved him first.
Eleven years later, he waltzed into my life, demanding a second chance.
Dean Cole wants to be my bronze horseman. My white knight has finally arrived. Hopefully, he isn’t too late.
Dean
They say the brightest stars burn out the fastest. They’re right.
She sets my mind on fire.
All smart mouth, snarky attitude and a huge heart.
In a world where everything is dull, she shines like fucking Sirius.
Eleven years ago, fate tore us apart.
This time, I dare it to try.
Getting to her is a battlefield, but man, that’s why they call me Ruckus.
Rosie LeBlanc is about to find out how hard I can fight.
And conquering her will be the sweetest victory.
Review
I was expecting a lot about Ruckus because this boy really intrigued me throughout the previous book. His charm and his destructive side have pleased and I want to know what was hidden under this intelligent young man.
We discover that Ruckus is in love with Rose, Milie’s sister, since he met her and frankly this boy is still extraordinary in the way he shows it. He and Rose now live in the same building and Ruckus does not hide anything from his sexual escapades.
Rose, for her part, is trying to live in New York, making ends meet and not falling for Ruckus. Something that is quite complicated when you think about it.
They will bother each other for a little while and after a moment of weakness of Rose everything will change.
I loved Rose and her independent character; she wants to live in New York so that her parents are no longer on her back. And frankly when we see the reaction of her mother and father when she returns home for Milie’s wedding, I find that her desire for independence is quite right. I find that her parents are unfair and I really thought they were more understanding. As for Milie, I’m disappointed that she is hiding from her sister something important and I managed to put myself in Rose’s place.
Ruckus on his side hides things to Rose, frankly I was surprised, and pleasantly, it’s rare that I get surprised in the romances; everything is prepared and orchestrated, in each romance the couple gets together and separates at one time or another. Well there I was surprised on a lot of point and it’s very nice, I must say.
I cried all the tears of my body, whether happiness or sadness and I cannot wait to discover the next book that may be electric. In any case Devious and Rosie is a rolling business and I loved the end that happens later but I would not say more.
Quick word: A wonderful story of hope and redemption.
