I have the real pleasure to be a part of the Capture blog tour, Capture is the new book of Rachel Van Dyken in her new series Seaside Pictures. Capture release date is 2016, August 20. Now you’ll see the synopsis, my review and all the links to buy this awesome book.
Losing your ability to speak at the age of seventeen; it’s not normal or fair.
But trauma, has a way of throwing normality out the window.
Dani lives anything but a normal life.
Her sister is married to one of the biggest names in Hollywood.
Her best friends are rockstar duo AD2.
And she has more love around her than most people experience in a lifetime.
But that doesn’t change the fact their parents are dead.
Or that it’s her fault.
It seems her new normal is being a mute, living on the inside, unable to actually communicate on the outside.
That is until Hollywood’s newest heartthrob Lincoln Greene hires her as his assistant for the summer.
He’s gorgeous, completely unavailable, and unobtainable.
But that doesn’t stop her from wondering…if things were different…would he want her?
If she was whole, would he be the other half?
Dani hasn’t got a normal life, her parents are dead and now she’s mute. She would love to be able to speak but sadly it’s not the case. Now it’s normal for her to be mute.
She lives with her sister Pris and her actor’s husband Jaymeson. Her best friends are the rockstar duo AD2 and now she must work as Lincoln Greene’s assistant. He’s the new hot actor in town, he’s hot and sexy as hell. Their relation will be entertaining because Lincoln has a little problem with the fact that Dani is only seventeen.
I like all the characters in this book. Dani is sweet and she has a great language, she can write some awesome dialog. She knows what she wants and I like that despite her past, she’s trying to move forward even if it’s only for Pris and Jay.
“For once in my life I want someone to care enough about me to ask before they make a decision that affects me.”
Lincoln is hot, yes I know I already said it, he’s kind, smart and funny. I like the fact that Dani’s age is a problem, not too long, but it’s one.
“If you say I’m seventeen one more time, I’m going to push you off the balcony.”
I like his jealousy too, it’s fun to see him interact with Zane.
Pris and Jaymeson are awesome. They love Dani and will do everything to protect her from anything.
Zane is awesome, I’m a little intrigued by the character and I want to know more about him.
“Does holding her hand while she cries over accidently grabbing a burnt popcorn kernel count?”
I really like Demetri, he’s Dani’s best friend and he’s overprotective, funny and awesome. I like when he talks about birds. I love his protectiveness with Dani, it’s kind of hot.
“Of course we are, now we have a common enemy.”
And alex is nice too, as overprotective as Demetri.
The story is nice, not suspensfull, we know what will happen but it’s a beautiful love story and that’s nice for me.
“We do this, you leave me, I will chase you,” I growled against her mouth. “And I mean that in the most threatening way possible. I’m not letting you go.”
Rachel Van Dyken knows how to write an amazing book full of emotions and good characters. Now the only thing I want is to read her ruins series and Seaside series. Good way to transform me in a Rachel Van Dyken’s addict.
“Leave your window open tonight, Rapunzel, I’m climbing in.”
Much, much love for this book, this cover and this author. Now I’m going to buy it in paperback and cross my fingers and hope she will be at RARE Edinburgh 2016.
